Tight hip flexors and back pain

Illiopsoas, the main hip flexor muscle runs from the lumbar spine (lower back) to the lesser trochanter of the femur (inside of the thigh bone). If this muscle is tight it causes the pelvis to tilt forward creating an exaggerated arch in the lower back known as lordosis. It’s this excessive lordosis that puts strain onto the lower back causing back pain. By releasing these hip flexors and improving their length through stretching exercises back pain can be significantly reduced. Watch the video below to find out how to effectively stretch your hip flexors.
